1. About us

Claude Desktop Buddy (this website and product) is an independent, community-run hardware project. "Claude"™ is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Anthropic. The product is a companion device built around the open-source claude-desktop-buddy BLE protocol.

By placing a pre-order or otherwise using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. The Founders Edition pre-order

When you complete checkout on /preorder, you are placing a binding pre-order for one (1) Claude Desktop Buddy Founders Edition unit.

• Price: $99 USD for the device + $15 USD for worldwide tracked shipping.
• Quantity: limited to the first 100 units worldwide. Once sold out, the Founders Edition is discontinued.
• Estimated ship window: summer 2026. This is a good-faith estimate, not a guaranteed date. Hardware supply chains are unpredictable; we will keep you updated by email.
• Currency and taxes: all prices are in US dollars. The $99 + $15 total does not include VAT, GST, import duties, customs fees, or any similar taxes levied by your country. You are responsible for those fees on delivery.
• Shipping destinations: we can ship to most countries. We cannot ship to jurisdictions sanctioned by the United States (currently: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, and the occupied regions of Ukraine). If you are unsure, email us before ordering.

3. Refunds and cancellations

• You may cancel your pre-order and receive a full refund at any time before your specific unit has shipped. Email hello@claude-desktop-buddy.com from the address you used at checkout.
• Once your unit has shipped, our standard 14-day return policy applies: return the unit undamaged and we will refund the device portion ($99). Shipping fees are non-refundable once the unit is in transit.
• If we are unable to ship your unit within 12 months of the estimated ship window, you may request a full refund at any time.
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

4. What we ship

Each Founders Edition unit includes:

1. One (1) fully assembled M5StickC Plus-based Claude Desktop Buddy, pre-flashed with firmware.
2. One (1) USB-C charging cable.
3. Founders sticker pack.
4. A laser-engraved Founders number (from 01 / 100 to 100 / 100).

Firmware is open source and free to flash or modify. The underlying M5StickC Plus module carries FCC ID 2AAJX-M5STACK and CE marking from M5Stack; Claude Desktop Buddy itself is sold as a developer / maker accessory and is not separately certified as a consumer electronics product.

5. Warranty and liability

• The hardware is covered by a 12-month limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, starting on the date your unit ships. Normal wear, user damage, water damage, and modifications are not covered.
• Firmware is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. See the LICENSE file in the upstream repository for the firmware license.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the product or this website is limited to the amount you paid us ($114 USD total).

6. No Anthropic endorsement

Nothing on this website or on the device implies endorsement by, affiliation with, or sponsorship by Anthropic, PBC. "Claude", the Claude logo, and any related marks are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC. If you work at Anthropic and would like us to adjust any wording, please email hello@claude-desktop-buddy.com.

7. Payments and security

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.. We do not see or store your full card number. By checking out, you also agree to Stripe's terms.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For any material change that affects an existing pre-order (for example, a major delay), we will notify you by email before the change takes effect.
